Nestled near the foothills of the majestic Long Range Mountains is the beautiful Codroy Valley. Home to the only provincial RAMSAR wetland of international importance and 2 Important Bird Areas (IBAs), Codroy Valley is one of the richest birding areas on the Island of Newfoundland. Birding by Season offers a 5 day, 6-night birding tour that explores some of the best birding hotspots in the area. We’ll travel through the Boreal Forest in search of resident species like the boreal chickadee, visit coastal areas where we look for sea ducks from the shore and scope sandy beaches in search of amazing shorebirds. The area is also home to a number of rare bird sightings like the Sandwich Tern seen this summer, the rare Tundra Swan (that stayed) and the Red-headed Woodpecker.
